QUICK FACTS

Clive is a west central suburb of Des Moines that often gets thought of as both a part of West Des Moines and Waukee, though it does have its own distinct boundary lines. The city of Clive primarily lies north of University Avenue, south of Hickman Road and west of 73rd Street, east of 142nd Street. However, the official border of Clive is rather interesting as it cuts in and out of Urbandale and Waukee to the north west. Click here to see a layout of Clive’s whacky borders. Clive is a great location to live for anyone wanting to be within 10 minutes of everything on the west side of Des Moines!

Population:  18,908 (2022 estimation), up from the 15,510 residents accounted for in the 2010 Census.

Though Clive is a small suburb, you’ll find a high concentration of luxury homes within its borders in neighborhoods like The Country Club and South Fork.
